Depends on what your looking for. For USB, I'd recommend the Blue Yeti X, mainly because a lot of blind people like to panny pan pan around the stereo field and scream/blowy blow blow scrach clip yell into there mics so if your looking for that there you go. However, if you use it well, hint not in stereo, the Yeti isn't a bad choice. For a more affordable option, I'd recommend the Samsung Q2U. It sounds grate and is only like 60 bucks. For xLR, I'd say either the rode podmic or the Shure sm58. Both mics are built pretty well and there Proximity effects are grate. If your looking to go crazy and you have money  to spend, I'd recommend the Rode Procaster for XLR and the Rode Podcaster for USB.

I am not looking for pro level music recording at this point. I just do not have the skills required for good production. People panning around there stereo field is a bit annoying. In one way, if I could listen to the audio over my computer speakers without the microphone picking up the speakers, it would be nice, but like any other good person on these apps, I wear headphones. I know at least one that used the Zoom H3VR for their microphone. Trust me, those things pick up a lot of noise, and could make you think that someone is walking up from behind if you are not expecting it. In short, if I can pull it off, I want to be the best sounding person on the server. Anyway, I will look at the microphones talked about here. One of the things I am looking at is great sound with very little background from the room within reasonable costs.

I like Shure microphones. I've got the PG48 and it works well for voice which is what I mainly use mine for. You don't need stereo microphones for voice chat or most podcasting. The Blue Yeti is ridiculously overhyped for some unknown reason. It's also very expensive. Make sure you get a decent stand, wind screen, and shock mount, as all of those will help.
