If you want to increase your skill level there are a few ways.

1) Fit a room with the skills you want to train, then visit the tactical menu, select the room and choose train
2) Pay for training at a fortress, search for the training service and then visit the services menu and pay for the training you want to receive
3) Complete related activities or missions to increase the skill level, for attack craft this would be destroying ships while on the attacking team

Over the last week we've focused on some quality of life features and making communication more obvious.

Firstly, we have changed the layout so a merged stream of all chat channels auto updates on the screen with the option to expand the channels from a new "comms" button and switch to the channel you are interested in, defaulting to local. This should help players notice chat from other players, especially when they are warnings.

In regards to layout we have also introduced ordering and filtering to all tables possible, which also supports logical operators such as AND and OR, e.g. "Gold AND Silver". Additionally, the filters and pagination remember their last setting and work with all data types - this is especially handy in helm where you can order by relative distance regardless of direction.

There has been a large balance change to commodities, now merchants will only sell commodities placed in their hold and commodities sold will also go into their hold. This places more importance on mining and mining related skills and makes systems with rare commodities far more valuable.

Profit logs can now also be viewed from the computer window categories by system, structures and structure type. Patrons can also download these logs in full to discover their own insights.

The Mechanical Fleet has also been upgraded and now brings more weapons and equipment each time they visit at the weekend.

Over the next week we are focusing on adding a few more skills, within the next two days the first of these new skills will be "Tracker", the ability to track ships and "Five-finger Discount" the ability to steal items instead of paying for them.

One question: how i can locate a outlanders ship? I have mission in which i must defeat one ship. I come to system in which i can claim revard for mission done, but in this system does not have any outlanders ships.

Depends what the mission is, but usually with Outlanders missions you will need to search the area around the mission point for them, or around the position spotted in the spotted channel.

Hello all, i have one question or suggestion:
Is it possible now in game next situation:
If for example i have carrier. I think that carrier have 12 docks, to purchase 12 fighters and stow them in to this carrier, and in my crew have 12 pilots. If i'm in combat, does all fighters launched from my ship, and what they do? Did they attack  the enemy?
For case that this is not possible currently, is it possible to add in combat, this way of battling. I think that for space warfare, carriers have role to launch small crafts like fighters and bombers.

that's exactly what will happen. I tried battling with an enhanced capital and eight gunboats, man it was simply awesome. Make sure to equip your ships though, or they wont have weapons to use in combat.

As discussed last week, this week we added two new skills. "Tracker" allows you to place a tracker on any ship and receive update when they enter new locations. "Five-finger Discount" give you the ability to attempt to steal from merchants with the chance based on skill, quantity and item type.

We added a new Patreon exclusive perk in the form of patron only surveys, these surveys found in the computer window allow players to directly influence parts of the game by providing ideas, names and voting on things.

A changelog was also added to the game as a comms channel, allowing you to see the latest updates within the game.

We also added some moderation features. Players can now blocked specific players, hiding their chat in the local comms channel as well as report a player or a player's message within the local chat channel.

A new system rule was also added "bad karma". When set, any members from a faction you have bad karma with will automatically be barred from missions and services within the system - especially useful for stopping thieves in their tracks.

A reorganisation of the services window has happened with a table of contents at the top and the sections now hiding and showing based on the services available. If this approach is popular we will roll it out to other windows.

To helm convey the system owner better, in the helm window it now also contains an owner section will lists the faction name and their buoy message or faction biography as appropriate. We plan later on to allow a faction to customise this banner as well.

Finally, we added the option to be able to click the narrative text to stop it auto scrolling and allowing for manually scrolling.

Over the next week we will be introducing a new welcome message when entering a system as well as new skills.

You can do other things while travelling, but it really depends how far you are travelling. There are plenty of ways to speed up your ship if you are finding it slow.

This week as discussed we rolled out a table of contents to each window, this means you can now jump to the section you are most interested in with back to top links added as well.

To help make the combat log easier to read, weapons of the same type and the total damage from these weapons are now merged along with the count of how many weapons fired.

Some mechanics were also introduced to better protect idle players. Now if a player is killed that was idle during the attack, they are hidden becoming visible again as soon as they interact with the game or log back in. This helps prevent players getting repeatedly killed while idle.

One of the biggest changes this week are some new cosmetics. Players are now represented with a banner showing their name, faction, portrait, ship name and type, level and chosen title. These banners are shown when you are present in a system and the most skilled players are shown first. Players can choose to customise their banner by selecting different backgrounds (which are described) and selecting a different title to use. Exclusive banners and titles are available to patrons and titles are earned in game by performing exceptional feats or achieving high numbers (such as combat, mining or travelling). Completely exclusive to patrons as well, a randomised portrait can now be triggered, generated a new portrait each time you randomise. Related to this, nine new objective trackers have also been added allowing more stats to be tracked and rewarded for achieving high levels.

We also introduced a new entry system this week that tells you the system name, the owner, the system population but most importantly the system rules when entering a system. So you know straight away what players have set the rules to and what not to do.

As a bit of balance tweak, when you are destroyed in combat the RRP to replace your ship is now automatically deducted from your account and fitted hold extenders will now provide the ammunition stockpile card in combat, a card that can instantly reload a random weapon.

Finally, we have added two new enlisted ship orders. A "goto" command has been added that allows you to instruct an enlisted ship to go to a faction or allied a system. An "escort" order has also been added that allows you to instructed an enlisted ship to escort another, effectively allowing you to construct fleets with a fleet leader.

Loving this game. One question though. When traveling in sublight speed is there of voiceover not announcing the destination and time until you arrive? I mean if your in the tab of the game fine I guess, but otherwise, this shouldn't be occuring. I mean even when I'm out out of safari and doing other stuff it keeps announcing the destination and how long it'll take to get to x  location.

This will happen as the progress bar is marked up for screen readers to understand and treat as a live element. Opening any window in game will actually hide the progress bar and you don’t need to keep the window open, the game will resume when you revisit.

If this is a problem for you however I can look into suppressing the progress bar when the game is unfocused and resuming when focuses, if that will make your life easier.

Hello, can any tell me does simulate combat have any efect on my character? For example: if i simulate combat with another ships, does my dominance increase? Or something like that?

I purchased the battle cruiser and... kind of... waisted too much power on adding more cargo space, I mean its useful but is there any way to cincrease the ships power so you can add more weapons, mining beams etc? Or am I getting this wrong and power is used for something else?

I have one suggestion about game improvement:
while travel is so long, is it possible to add mechanism to improve your character during this period:
If ship fly from one system to another, and it do not require attention of captain, for this period you can improve your character skills by using your computer, to learn new thinks. For example to add in computer window section courses, and on that way you can improve your attack, operation, mining skills or something like that.

It doesn’t no. Combat sims is just for testing your weapons, cards or seeing how you match up against a potential opponent.

You cannot increase the power output of a ship, this is fixed. The power is used to power ports (equipment and weapons) as well as recharge shields. The more available power you have, the quicker your shields will recharge.

This is very interesting, I like it. We shall look into it.

We are also adding some new skills that are specifically for doing during idle activities, the first of these being “cryptographer”.

One question:
my knowledge of english language is not so good and i will try to explain on best way.
If i travel from11111.20 to 11060.20 How i can know does in my nearby enviroment have any ship (outlanders or any of my enemies)?
While i try during traveling to check does in my nearby have ships, this is unavailable during this travel. For which reason is impossible to look for closest ship?
Im confused, i must hunt outlander ship but how i know where is? i have location given to me by the mission but when i come to this coords there is nothing. If i try to fly on nearest coordinates it do not have nothing again. And during my travel i can not check is on any of location outlander ship.
Suggestion is to add a scanner window in which you can see a ships around you by the 5 li and on this you can track a interest ship.
I hope that we can understand me, and sorry for my terrible english.

@99 for that mission you are given a position and must search around that position for Outlanders. You do this by moving on 0.1 LY increment at a time, this can be done in the helm window by using the travel to position option which also features increment steppers.
