Hi there everyone, karate25 here. I just want to let everyone know that I'm having an absolute blast with my new ps5, and I personally do not see myself ever asking for a physical coppy of a game ever again. I quite frankly love this all digital approach. I've said for ages now and it's especially true because of the pandemic, things are going to continue to go all virtual and I for one can not wait for the metaverse to become a reality. But that's beyond the scop of this particular topic. I'd like to know how you folks play Odin sphere, I just got it last night per the forum's recommendation after watching some gameplay footage on youtube and loving what I saw. I especially like the singing during the menues. It sounds very mysterious and beautiful all at the same time. What I'd like to know is how do I navigate around and progress through the levels? I do know that when you're fighting enemies, you can actually hear their footsteps and spurs coming from the direction they're moving from which is extremely helpful, this way it allows me to stand still and prepear for their attacks and usually slay them. So any sort of help you can give me for this game would be greatly appreciated. And incidentally, I was also able to find 9 monkeys of shaolin on ps5 as well. Have a great day and I'm looking forward to playing this fun game.

You'll have to be a bit more specific with your question. It's primarily a side scroller, with some areas where the map goes around in a circle. You have to press up+x in order to open doors, where there are any. Picking items up is done by pressing down over an item, where you will here a click to signify something can be picked up.

ah okay. So I know there is the button that makes her attack, the button below that makes her jump, and if you press it twice in rapid succession, she seems to be able to fly, and then the r1 button seems to be some sort of charge attack or something, and I realize that the down arrow on the d pad clicks when you press it. I'm not exactly sure what the l1 button does though. Is the x button the attack button? Thanks so much and I'm sorry if I seemed a bit vague. It also seems as though that in order to get to the game, you have to walk out of some sort of house where there's a cat meowing in the background.

okay. How do I get out of her house to start the game a little easier? are there any accessibility options in the game at all? if not it's okay, I was able to feel around and eventually get into the game itself. Can we turn the music down so that we only can hear the sounds? Have a great evening everyone.

The place with the cat is the game's hub where you choose your story book. You are the cat. I believe this is where you can adjust game settings.

Minor correction... you are not the cat. You are a young girl who is setting up to read her cat a story, and all the books are in the attic. Yes, there is a way to turn your music down, that's in the options menu, the exact location of which I can't remember right now. r1 has two functions, to evade, and to absorb phozons which are needed for upgrades and the like. l1 opens the skills menu which will become available later.

@3, the x button is used to jump, and the square button to attack.

going in to the wilds, collecting pokedex, and capturing them are my kind of thing,
training them, making them evolve, and generally making them stronger is my ultimate goal,
fighting other manamon tamers, winning the tournament, and fighting octoros are what these manamons like to do,
and ultimately, I become the master of mana!

@6  Thanks. Couldn't remember.

ah okay. That helps a great deal, now my problem is finding my way around inside the world itself. I know it's left to right movement, but I don't really know what's around me because her footsteps continue even if I'm blocked by something, so that doesn't help at all. What do I do in this regard? is it a case of feeling around inside the environment until I eventually figure it out?

Yup and there's gonna be a bit of platforming.

2022-02-05 19:27:50

oh lord. I don't much care for platforming. Ah well, I'll try it for as long as I can, and if I can't figure it out, I'll just take it off my system. That's 60 bucks down the drain though.

@karate, odin sphere leifthrasir’s biggest differences compaired to the original ps2 version is with the areas. Some of them contains some sections where you need to do some little platforming, but luckily it’s not too complicated as you may think. Most of the time, you just have to jump 1 or 2 platforms, while at the same time holding up on the D-pad until your character stop moving. This indicate that a door is in front of you so press x to enter the next battle area.
