Just a quick question. Does this mod support everything out of the box?

@arnold18 Most of the game's UI is read, however there are a few screens still being worked on (see the github readme page for more info).

I haven't personally encountered anything important to gameplay that it doesn't read.

At first the game wouldn't accept my analogues. I'm guessing it happened because I was using a PS4 controller, but I got it working with this:

I'm excited to try this! I've already been addicted to the thing with text the spire, this will make it worse.

Prier practice and preparation prevents piss poor performance!

Stevie, I don't know. How to check that?

ice, fire, water, thunder.

@pates see the github link in the first post

@pates, most likely this controller will not work properly. Tested with ds4 and x360 controllers and works great!

Hi,

Great work smile Really interesting new way to play the game.
Some things don't quite seem to work for me yet, but honestly I ave it ten minutes and had to go something else so that is most likely operator error and I need more time with it smile
One question though, once you have set all your options for a custom playthrough, how do you actually embark? I could only find the cancel button smile

@Zersiax to embark hit y/triangle. Usually for things like that y/triangle is how to proceed.

Hm, when trying to save the changes in setting by clicking RT the game is starting to ask if you wish to save and just crash.

@Lirin This actually appears to be a BaseMod bug (a mod that Say the Spire depends on). I uninstalled Say the Spire and the game still crashes in the same way. Thanks for reporting it, I'll try to let the BaseMod developer know. Also let me know if you can cause any other crashes on similar screens.

This bug shouldn't be a problem for now, you don't have to hit rt to save your settings. Just hitting circle/b to back out of the settings menu is enough to save them.

Actually not, When I did that and exited the game the next start just reset the settings.

ah, @Lirin I think you may have a bug with the game itself. I know some of my beta testers also had weird results when trying to change settings. Where is your game installed, is it the default location? If so you should report this to the Slay the Spire developres.

(Edit)It seems I was wrong, apparently hitting right trigger in options is literally programmed to exit the game (which in turn crashes BaseMod as a side effect). That is incredibly weird and I didn't know about this. I can fix the mod reporting the wrong prompt on my end though.(/Edit)

My game is installed (with Steam) on the other HDD.

Also it seems like every setting is saving but not just audio settings.

@Lirin yep that is the bug a lot of people are having. I'd report this to the devs, it looks like a pretty common issue.

do I have to uninstall my other mods for the game to use yours?

No, the game should work with other mods you have installed.

Is this not playable with a ps4 controller?
Here, my right stick doesn't work. Do I need x360 controller?
I also tried with a cheep logicool controller which doesn't even support xinput. Didn't work at all. lol

I don't speak as good as I write, and I don't listen as good as I speak.

@44
Use the software I linked in post 29.

2020-09-27 14:21:00

Yeah, use DS4 for windows Yukio and everything should be fine. I am using DS4 controller and it works without any problems.

Hi,
so I just got round to trying this, and it works like a charm!  the only thing I'm noticing is that I can't use any modded characters on a standard run, but I'm sure that's fixable down the road.  other than that, the ease and speed of information given is incredible.  Fantastic job.  and thank you so much for doing this.

2020-09-27 20:38:48 (edited by defender 2020-09-27 20:39:57)

Unless I'm mistaken, the game doesn't say what the enemy is doing when they attack, which is kind of a problem.  Is this true?  I just watched Liam play it since I don't have a controller.
Also, is their any chance we could get short descriptions of the enemies on demand, maybe pulled from the wiki or something?  I don't know how many enemies their are, so I realize this could be too much, but I believe that could add allot to the experience.

2020-09-27 20:58:43

The enemy's intent is always visible.  Arrow across them and it will give you "strategic 7 block 3" for example, meaning: I'm going to do something, it will hit you for 7 damage, I've got 3 block, and it's strategic so it'll have a knock-on effect.  Sometimes more information is available via the right stick, and after the fact you'll be able to see what you and/or the enemy has.

Not sure the sighted get attack names either.  Or at least not sure they get attack names that we don't.  Stewie would know more on that than me.

In general, how you're supposed to play the game is by learning the patterns: there's only 20 or so unique enemies.

Oh okay, thanks, I guess Liam just didn't look at that.
Sounds like enemy descs could be possible then?
