Hi all, over the last 30 days since the Open Beta has been live for TextSpaced we have been blown away by all your support. We risen to almost 300 concurrent players (500 total) and are blessed to now have 30 patrons - all of this is just a month!

I've created this topic as due to the rising popularity it can serve as a central point containing all the information you might need to get started, useful links and a place to ask questions (although this forum is checked less frequently than other channels), since TextSpaced is no longer a new release.

First up, the game can be played at https://play.textspaced.com with the official website containing guides and databases at https://www.textspaced.com. On the official website you will find amongst other things:

What is TextSpaced: https://www.textspaced.com/discover/
New starters guide: https://www.textspaced.com/new/
A list of missions available (this is live information pulled from the game): https://www.textspaced.com/missions/
Ships available to purchase (100 base ships + 150 craftable ships): https://www.textspaced.com/ships/
Structures available to build (64 to date): https://www.textspaced.com/blueprints/
Weapons to craft and purchase (~4,000 across 90 lines): https://www.textspaced.com/ports/

The community is centrally located on Discord and this is where you can ask questions, log bugs and generally interface with the team and other captains, the invite link for the official Discord server is: https://discord.gg/pwTTNyn

The Discord server can also be viewed without requiring a Discord account so you can still check the change log and see what the community is talking about, by visiting https://www.textspaced.com/discover/ and scrolling to the embedded Discord viewer.

You can also log a bug in-game by typing @bug into your log followed by a description of the bug.

All of the aforementioned guides and content can also be found in-game. Within the computer window you will find a reference section that contains searchable FAQs, these FAQs are seeded by the questions we are asked and are always being added to. You will also find a tutorial section that allows you to progress through tutorials that cover the basics of the game at your own pace, these being: Buying your first ship, building your first structure, refining and fabricating with of course more being added as we go along (these are the same tutorials found in the getting started section of the official website).

Our amazing community has also starting recording weekly news broadcasts about new features, events in game and things to look forward to. These will be found on Discord and shortly added to the game as well but here is a sneak peak: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/ … /gwn-1.mp3

For patrons to get started (http://patreon.com/TextSpaced) you simply need to link your account to Discord to be able to view the rewards (music downloads, artwork downloads, soundscape downloads, patrons lounge, content requests) although the in-game perks will still work even if you don't have Discord (emotes, buoy broadcasts, portrait change, data dumps, API access, physical merchandise).

And if all else fails, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]

Here is a list of new features added over the last 30 days:

Once again, thank you for all being amazing and supporting our game.

Apollo (Matthew), Zaria (Celina), Corpse (Andy), Kopp (Adam) and the TextSpaced community.

Ah, good good!
There's a question I've wanted to ask for ages!
Can i test combat somewhere before i try it in real?
I mean, it would be good to have a place to learn all the basics. Otherwise you will be shot to pieces unnecessarily.

There is no current way to test combat, but the plan is to be able to simulate combat against any ship, as well as a fight club later on as well.

Sounds absolutely great!
Will definitely keep an eye on this!

OK, next questions:
How long do i have to wait or how far do i have to travel to receive a new selection of missions?
Second: I mined some special .... gems? Are there only for extra cash or are they special in some other cases?

A minimum of five missions are assigned to you to complete and are based on your skills, ship and what is around you. The missions are also ship role based, so if you change to an attack role ship for example, you will see missions more focused on combat missions.

If you don’t want to do any of your assigned missions you can reject them, this will however cost an admin fee to do.

In terms of cargo like precious stones, most things can be traded and most things have other uses as well. Unless you have skills or technology to take advantage of using the precious stones for other purposes, you are fine to sell them.

I started to play the game today and it is really nice. But i'm sad because i'll need to travel for 5 hours to buy my first ship cause this shuttle is very, very, very, and very slow.

2021-11-08 02:22:01

This is crazy. I have been exploring for over 17 hours and have yet to find an undiscovered system to claim.

2021-11-08 05:39:47

btw i have around 200000 credits, what is a good ship to start? i think a good ship for mining will be best because i dont have many credits, so i'm accepting suggestions

2021-11-08 10:34:45

well the battle cruiser would be a good start for you. for 1 thing it has a good hold of 200 units. also enough extra power so you can have a couple ports for example mining beams or afterburners.

2021-11-08 11:58:48

thank you @10, I purchased it and it is really nice

2021-11-08 15:09:52

Well, I equiped 6 miningbeams in the battlecruiser and it is taking ages to fill the cargo, I hope that it will give me a lot of money haha

I also wanted to take the time to let everyone know that there is a Telegram group where your welcome to come ask questions should you want thatover discord.
keep in mined that this is in no way an official group, just something I've created.
You can find that here:

I hope to see more of you on there.

The game is really nice, the unique problem that I'm having is the time to travel, all my missions are over 60 LYs from my location and it will take hours to travel all this way.

2021-11-09 06:57:57

Anybody have strategies for travelling? Shortcuts and the like?

2021-11-09 08:38:03

the best strategy is to get as much sublight speed as you can. Buy some afterburners and equip your ship before traveling, the best equipment can be found at spaceport I think, haven't visited the demarkists in a while.
Ironically enough, the slowest ship, the engineer, is now my fastest ship that I have after I equiped 19 slamjet afterburners with a speed of around 0.42 lys.

it happens probably because your password is not strong enough, try setting one that has a majuscule, a number and a sign, that should fix it.

Where can I remove equipments from my ship?

You can remove fitted equipment ports from your ship in the tactical window.

2021-11-09 14:44:35

Well, just basic afterburners here and they're useless, is there some way to search for ports be name and get places selling said ports?

There is no way to search for stock via name, no. You will need to scout out different locations to see what they have or communicate with fellow captains.
