Hi folks,
So  I picked up a new laptop for myself a week or so ago.
During the setup, it prompted me to upgrade to Win 11, though I turned it down for the moment. Figured I'd let things kinda develop a little more first, on both the OS and NVDA sides.
Out of curiosity for early adopters, how is it so far? Any huge changes? Anything that made you say oh holy shit, that was definitely worth it? Or the opposite.
Also on an unrelated note... holy shit, SSD boot speeds are nuts, and where have they been my whole life?
Thanks.

Honestly it isn't really worth it if you don't want to. Because there isn't really anything new, but. Just a few lay out things that I really can't explain lol. But other people on here have said. so

Bach is an astronomer, discovering the most marvelous stars. Beethoven challenges the universe. I only try to express the soul and the heart of man."

I acctually prefer windows 11 over windows 10. you might as well install windows 11. eventually you will be able to run android apps.

With regard to Windows development in general, one particular saying from a Doctor Who audio play you may or may not have heard of comes to mind. The story changes, but the ending stays the same.

I can say I'm pretty impressed by Windows 11 and its Android apps feature. I'm running TikTok, Instagram, WhatsApp and Telegram, all of them as Android apps, and it barely takes 1 GB out of my 16, while Bluestacks, MEemu oro ther emulators I used were just eating my whole RAM while I was running the same apps.

I feel like it loads a little quicker than 10, but that could be psychosomatic.

Hi.
I have it and like it. Honestly I can't say you should upgrade, and I can't say that you shouldn't. I just figured I would since my comp supports it. I haven't had any problems in terms of apps not running or the computer becoming unstable.

here, windows explorer is stremeley slowly for me.
Is there a fix for this?

2022-01-18 19:34:44

@8
I feel like I had that problem on 10 as well. I do most of my file management from the command line though, so please don't take my word for it.

hi.
i can say i do infact love windows 11. it's a good OS, and takes some time to get used to the layout.
NVDA actually, on my side of things, works perfectly. i use windows 11 for obviously posting on this forum, playing a wide variety of audiogames that would normally lag out my other systems, and edit using gold wave. honestly, try it out man, if you don't like it there's always a downgrade to windows10 option if you use the mct bypasser.
edit, i forgot to mention. even if you have tpm2.0 microsoft still has there download center for win10 ISO's. i also have an ISO you can have if you can't find it, as well as the 21h1 media creation tool.

i make TTS videos and  gaming vids. check me out here at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCk-BXi … xydoIQgIsA

For me, everything except BGT works fine, so I like the OS so far.
I saved both the scripts, executables and the BGT itself in a special directory that is excluded from the antivirus scanning.
At least it was working on win 10, but if this might be the reason why not everything works on Win 11, then let me know and I'll reinstal BGT and save it in the default location.
I also think the sound quality got a bit better up on upgrading the OS.

Hello!
Does anyone know if Win 11 and JAWS work well together?

2022-01-20 12:27:28

As I'm not using JAWS, I'm not familiar with it. However, JAWS 2022 should surely fix everything that was broken in the old versions. You know, Freedom Scientific likes to be up to date on new OSs.

I can confirm that JAWS2022 works very well indeed with Windows11.
I wish you the best on your programming.

now I'm curious. Could I run commentary on windows 11?

me and a friend of mine have made a youtube channel where we upload beats that we make. If you want to check it out, you can find it at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCD0CxF … PFlCqjOtOA

2022-01-20 16:14:21

Perhaps you can, as Commentary is an Android screen-reader, and you can run Android apps, with a little playing around.

2022-01-20 19:11:12

it is time to give BGT up

2022-01-27 12:48:30

I read a little tutorial about using jaws with 11, and it mentioned 11 having gotten rid of the ribbons from file explorer. Has 11 gone back to old style menus now or is it another system altogether?

2022-01-27 17:46:26

I have a ricen7 5800x and windows security does not open. with a ricen 3 1300 if it does rofl. it is lmao.

2022-01-27 19:46:41

what was the point of @19's post. @18 you have the view button and then a' more button witch then head down to options and their is a normal diolog box you can use to set all of the settings from their. you can switch tabs to access the other areas by using control tab and or control shit tab to go back a tab. and then to save your settings tab to the ok button

2022-01-27 20:38:00

Huh, thanks folks. I'll probably wait a bit, then. Let Microsoft iron out some of the bugs. Doesn't sound like there's anything particularly mindblowing.

I actually like the new windows file explore with windows 11. their is another update just realeased today that you guys can download ant for my machine it may take around 6 minutes to install if I were to reboot my pc

2022-01-27 22:32:54

I went back to win 10 through UUP Dump, so I don't get upgraded to win 11. I found it slow, but it seems on my test machine that things are improving in that department again. No reason to be slower than 10 on the same machine with nothing new.

2022-01-27 23:26:46

that is weird, I am finding win 11 to be faster on my HP machine and I have had some weird crashes with win 10 on the same machine before upgradeing to windows 11

2022-01-28 08:06:46

I use Xplorer2 so I don't have the issues with File explorer.
